The World Federation of Music Therapy (WFMT) is an international organization bringing together music therapy associations and individuals interested and active in developing and promoting music therapy globally through professional exchange, collaboration, and action. Founded in 1985 in Genoa Italy, it is the only worldwide professional organization representing music therapy in many areas of the world. The Federations’ members are music therapy organizations, training programs, music therapists, and individuals associated with music therapy, currently numbering more than 40 members. WFMT is an international body, with officers, commissioners, and regional liaisons in Africa, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, India, Ireland, Korea, Spain, U.A.E., and the USA.
