WFMT FOR STUDENTS

STUDENTS

CONNECTION

This project aims to connect students around the world. Find a music therapy peer in any country you wish and learn how their culture influences their music and interventions. Why not find a peer in South Korea and start planning your trip to the XIII World Congress of Music Therapy in July 2011?

Let us know about your interests by filling out the jotform. We will find a peer match for you!

INFO CARDS

Do you want to have the perfect answer for frequently asked questions in music therapy?

Access the info cards in different languages by clicking on the button.

Info cards are currently available in English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Polish, and German.

We are planning to offer the Info Cards in many more languages. If you would like to help with translating them into your language, please contact me.

WINDOW TO THE WORLD

Did traveling, studying or working abroad change you? Window to the World explores the transforming power of diving into other cultures and countries. Share your story by sending us:

  1. A narrative (maximum 300 words) about your music therapy related experiences abroad including pictures (jpeg) sound (mp3) or video (mp4) files

  2. Download and sign the WFMT multimedia license form

  3. Send the above to Rose at assistant@wfmt.info

Welcome to the WFMT for Students page!  This is a project for and with students initiated by the American Music Therapy Association Students (AMTAS) in collaboration with the WFMT President, Dr. Petra Kern. As the Executive Assistant, I will be serving as a facilitator in developing the role of the student voice within WFMT.

Our current student projects are:

  1. Window to the World: Narratives and images documenting students’ experiences with music therapy in cultures outside of their own

  2. Info Cards: Answers to some of those constant questions about music therapy provided in many languages

  3. Connections: A peer matching program designed to help students create international friendships and professional networks. Connections is still in its pilot stage, and we are actively seeking students to join in this project.

Additionally, WFMT is in the process of creating an Assembly of Student Delegates to provide music therapy students around the world with the opportunity to get involved with WFMT. More information will be forthcoming in the Fall 2010

The WFMT Council is committed to listen to you and build the future of global music therapy together with you. Be part of the worldwide music therapy community and don’t miss the opportunity to let us know about your talents and hopes for your clients/patients and the future of our profession.  We encourage music therapy student organizations around the world to get in contact with us. Let us feature you with your mission, goals, and projects and connect you with other music therapy student organizations. We would love to hear from you!

All the best,

Rose Fienman, MT-BC
