The 2023-2026 membership term began July 1, 2023 and continues through June 30, 2026. We offer sliding fee membership rates for organizations of varying size. Payments are made only once during the term! Why not join us now and begin receiving your WFMT membership benefits today as a 2023-2026 member (e.g., eligibility to nominate a candidate for Council, eligibility to run for Council for WFMT professional members, reduced WCMT registration fees for individual members, etc)?

Membership Types

FULL ORGANIZATIONAL membership is for music therapy membership organizations or societies that have the promotion of music therapy as the main objective. Documentation describing the aims and objectives of the association must accompany the membership application. Full organizational members have the right to vote. This category is only for national music therapy associations.

ASSOCIATE ORGANIZATIONAL membership is for universities, music therapy training centers or other institutions, and organizations related to music therapy that include the promotion of music therapy among the main objectives. Documentation describing the aims and objectives of the program or association must accompany the membership application. Associate organizational members do not have the right to vote. The WFMT does not endorse any music therapy training programs.

AFFILIATE ORGANIZATIONAL membership is for organizations interested in music therapy that do not meet the criteria for either full organizational or associate organizational membership. Affiliate organizational members do not have the right to vote.

INDIVIDUAL PROFESSIONAL membership is for individuals who can provide evidence of educational or organizational designation as a music therapist. Documentation must accompany the membership application. Individual professional members do not have the right to vote.

INDIVIDUAL ASSOCIATE membership is for individuals interested in music therapy who are not professional music therapists. Individual associate members do not have the right to vote.

STUDENT ORGANIZATIONAL membership is for student music therapy membership organizations or societies that have the promotion of music therapy as the main objective. Documentation describing the aims and objectives of the association must accompany the membership application. Student organizational members do not have the right to vote.

STUDENT INDIVIDUAL membership is for individuals who can provide evidence of studying to become music therapists according to their countries’ guidelines. Verification of enrollment in a music therapy program must be provided by the academic program director. Student individual members do not have the right to vote.

STUDENT INDIVIDUAL ASSOCIATE membership is for individuals who are studying in programs other than those to become music therapists according to their countries’ guidelines. Verification of student status must by provided by the academic program director. Student individual associate members do not have the right to vote.
