The World Federation of Music Therapy (WFMT) is pleased to announce that the Japanese Music Therapy Association (JMTA) is providing TEN scholarships for professional music therapists. The scholarships provide a complimentary congress registration only.Eligibility:Professional music therapist active in their countryMust hold professional membership in WFMT for the 2014-2017 termInterest in global development of music therapyApplication processThe scholarship application is available below. Applicants must complete the entire application, which also includes providing documentation of status as a professional music therapist. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or considered. Applicants are asked to submit narrative responses to several questions listed below and to provide verification of current individual professional membership in WFMT (application here) or professional membership in a WFMT full organizational member music therapy association (see listing here under 'Organizational Members').Questions to be addressed in narrative statement:-Why do you think you should be chosen for the scholarship?-Are you currently involved in any music therapy organizations? If so, what are your contributions?-How would you like to contribute to the development of global music therapy?-What do you hope to learn at the 2017 World Congress of Music Therapy in Tsukuba, Japan?-How will you fund travel, accommodation, and living expenses to attend the 2017 World Congress of Music Therapy in Tsukuba, Japan?Application deadlineApplications are due by January 10, 2017 at 11:59pm CST time. Applications received after 12:00 am on January 11, 2017 will not be reviewed. Applications should be submitted via the form below. Questions regarding applications may be directed to the WFMT Secretary at secretary@wfmt.info.NotificationWhen the committee has completed review of all applications, applicants will be notified via email of the committee’s decision. All applicants will be notified by January 25, 2017 at the latest. All winners must register for the congress by January 31, 2017 in order to receive the full early bird registration cost covered.
