Becoming More Connected in 2019

Students

January 17, 2019

Happy New Year! With another new year comes another round of New Year’s Resolutions. Eating healthier, practicing our instruments more, exercising, and reading more research may be just several goals we music therapy students are setting. Despite our best intentions, however, some resolutions fade with time and busy schedules. In an effort to stick to one of my resolutions - consuming more music therapy research and ‘happenings’ from around the world - I have turned to podcasts. There are a handful of music therapy podcasts we can all access on our devices that can keep us informed, connected, and up-to-date. Whether you have a ten-minute walk across campus or an hour commute in traffic, you can tune into the “Music Therapy Research Blog” or “The Travelling Music Therapist”, to name a few, and catch up on the latest research and interviews with music therapists from around the world. Below is a list of eight music therapy podcasts created by music therapists, professional music therapy organizations, and music therapy research journals from different regions of the world. There are so many wonderful podcasts out there and these are only a handful I have personally discovered so far. So in an effort to expand our awareness and information, please share your favorite music therapy podcasts by commenting on this post on our Facebook page. Let your new year be filled with knowledge, curiosity, and connection. Happy 2019!
