Dear WFMT members and the wider music therapy community,
There has recently been an episode of scam emails sent to individuals and colleagues within the music therapy community and to members of the World Federation of Music Therapy (WFMT), falsely claiming to be from the President of the WFMT. These messages are not from the President or any Council member and are in no way connected to, or endorsed by, the WFMT.
The WFMT strongly encourages everyone to remain vigilant about online scams, avoid clicking on suspicious links or sharing personal information, and always verify the authenticity of unexpected messages by contacting the purported sender through a known, trusted channel before replying or taking any further action.
We also remind you that the only legitimate contact details for WFMT Council members are those officially and publicly listed on our website: https://www.wfmt.info/about#council.
Please rely exclusively on these verified contacts for any communication with us.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and your ongoing commitment to supporting a safe and trustworthy professional community. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about suspicious communications in the future.
Warm regards,
On behalf of the World Federation of Music Therapy Council
