Could you hear us – could you feel the energy from the 13th World Music Therapy Congress in Seoul, Korea? This was the largest group music therapists from across the world meeting together to celebrate our work and passion as music therapists. The energy of everyone at the Congress was invigorating – the presentations were stimulating – the camaraderie among old and new friends was rewarding – the traditional Korean performances were spectacular – and the Korean food was fantastic! Can you tell I had a great time in South Korea! I would like congratulate Dr. Byungchuel Choi and his staff of music therapists for a wonderful congress and stay and Dr. Petra Kern for her Council leadership as President these past three years.

Our next Congress is in 2014 so start saving those mileage points for your plane ticket—it is a phenomenal experience to talk to music therapists from India, Australia, Japan, Germany, and Spain all in the same hour.

Now I would like to introduce your new North American Liaison, Dr. Anita Gadberry. She has just accepted the music therapy teaching position at Marywood University in Pennsylvania, United States. Anita has a keen interest and experience in international work having participated in various conferences and projects in other countries. She is excited about getting involved with the WFMT Council and supporting the needs of music therapists in North America.
