We are pleased to inform our members that the newly approved WFMT Bylaws are now available online. We encourage everyone to take some time to read through the document and become familiar with the updates and changes that will guide the Federation in the years ahead.
The revision of the bylaws was one of the important areas of work undertaken during the previous WFMT term (2023–2026). A dedicated task force was established to carefully review the existing framework, propose updates, and develop a revised document reflecting the needs and future direction of the Federation.
The final version of the new bylaws was approved during the 18th World Congress of Music Therapy, held in Bologna, Italy, at the WFMT General Business Meeting on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Please note that the new bylaws will not come into effect all at once. Their implementation will take place gradually throughout the 2026–2029 term, following a phased approach that will allow for a smooth and thoughtful transition from the previous governance framework. This process is intended to ensure an orderly implementation of the new provisions while supporting the Federation's continued growth and development.
