News from New Zealand

Community awareness of music therapy continues to grow steadily in New Zealand with increasing numbers of newly registered music therapists working around the country. Current and forthcoming activities include

A workshop about promoting music therapy through presentations. This will be presented by Daphne Rickson, Music Therapy Lecturer and Clinical Placement Coordinator, New Zealand School of Music.

A music therapy weekend on the 1st and 2nd of August, in Wellington. This will include the Annual General Meeting of music therapy New Zealand, and a range of professional development opportunities, including "Presentation, Discussion & Music Making with a focus on Cultural Sensitivity".
