Spain was absolutely beautiful – I was fortunate to attend the WFMT meetings during the European Music Therapy Congress at the beginning of May. Check out the sideshow of pictures on the WFMT site – yes we did work hard with almost 11-hour days at the Congress! And I met so many great people from Europe and other parts of the world. I encourage other music therapists in the United States and Canada who are able to travel to attend the next one.
So are some of you considering the World Music Therapy Congress in Seoul, South Korea in July of 2011? Proposals are due by the end of August. You can find more information at http://www.musictherapy2011.org/ Estimates of the costs to fly and stay at the Congress have been made by the conference organizers – here are the costs for traveling from Chicago.

Some congratulations go out to our Canadian CAMT members – they have reached 485 MTAs within their association; Connie Isenberg and Claire Lefebvre received Life Membership Awards, Susan Summers received the Peer Recognition Award, Rachel Ringland received the Professional Development Award, and Louise Cadrin received the Certificate of Appreciation Award.
Have a wonderful summer people!
Gene Ann Behrens
