Reflections from the 13. World Congress of Music Therapy 1

It was such a great experience to meet various music therapists around the world. The greatest impression on me made the fact that we have different educational backgrounds and starting points, but many common grounds. We treat patients with our music and the music of the patient and try to find an appropriate way to communicate together.I was very affected by the roundtable Music Therapy and Global Crisis. The presenters were extremely sensitive with such an intense topic and it was fascinating how music therapy interventions can heal or open a window for the healing process.Additionally, I was very touched by the hospitality and generosity of our Korean colleagues, especially my friend Kwi Joo Kim and the open-hearted humor of the Korean people. Also I found a lot of new friends who I hopefully will meet at the next World Congress.Last but not least, the organization of the congress was really perfect and I enjoyed very much the music performances.Thank you very much for this great experience.Kirsten Gosh, Student at the University of Augsburg, Germany
