I am super happy to announce that there will be a pre-congress seminar for students at the 15th World Congress of Music Therapy (WCMT). Since the WFMT and the Congress organizers want students to learn as much as possible from the Congress, this seminar will be free to attend! The following is an overview of this seminar:July 4, 2017 from 1:00pm to 4:15pm“The Bridge: from Student to Music Therapist” presented by Dr. Amy Clements-Cortes & Dr. Katrina Skewes McFerranThe transition from school to professional work as a music therapist is an exciting time, and there are many paths to pursue. Two leading experts in the field of music therapy, internship, education/training, and research will discuss navigating professional practices including: advocating for music therapy, creating proposals, professional writing, and integrating research and evidence-based work into your practices. It is like an A-Z guide for students and has everything we need to know!! After this seminar, from 4:30pm, the WFMT Assembly of Student Delegates is planning to have a social event. You can find “Congress buddies” there and enjoy this worldwide music therapy event more. It’s not too late to stop buying coffee and other snacks.
