WCMT 2017 student Report from Lazaro Nascimento, Brazil

To attend to the WCMT2017 was an AMAZING experience. It was my first time outside of Brazil and for sure I’ve never been in such a big conference like that before. I loved to meet Music Therapists and specially students from so many different areas and to learn about our profession in different countries: Japan, USA, Italy, China, Germany and others. Being aware of how our profession is organized in other countries makes me even more confident about my choice: I want to be a Music Therapist!I’ve loved a pre-seminar congress about palliative care and also a workshop of vocal psychotherapy. These two experiences really changed my life in a deep level even in a short time. I’ve never believed that small experiences like that could be so intense and transform anyone, being in the WCMT2017 proved to me that I was wrong! Also to be selected as the student delegate of Latin America is an honor to me. It’s the first time we have a Brazilian in this position, so I hope I can help to make Music Therapy more and more noticed.Last but not least, I’ve met very special friends from all the globe and I hope to see these people soon in this world so big and full of amazing people.I would like to say thanks to WFMT for the scholarship, it really helped me! It made my participation possible. Oh, and I would like to say: I’m already saving money to South Africa, 2020! See you there!Written by: Lazaro Nascimento
