WCMT 2017 student Report from Marija Pranjić, UK

Attending the 15th World Congress of Music Therapy as one of the WFMT scholarship recipients has been an unforgettable experience! This was a wonderful opportunity to meet and learn from the leading professionals in the field, specialists in various disciplines of music therapy, and practitioners from different cultures. This was where I met many intelligent and inspiring international colleagues amongst the 2800 music therapy lovers, merged in a unique Japanese environment. I thoroughly enjoyed this 5-day event filled with so many insightful seminars, workshops, roundtables, symposiums, paper presentations and discussions on various topics. However, after kicking off the day with a 2-hour spotlight session in a packed Main Hall, the real struggle was to decide which presentations to attend afterwards, as there were at least 6 sessions running concurrently at any time throughout the Congress. Those sweet worries and the knowledge gained were further discussed with the fellow students and professionals that I had the opportunity to connect with on the hallways of the spacious Tsukuba International Conference Center!Furthermore, as a newly appointed Student Delegate for Europe for the 2017-2020 term, I was fortunate to meet the previous & new fellow regional representatives whom I can't be more excited to collaborate with in the build-up of the next WCMT in South Africa in 2020!My heartfelt thanks to the Review Committee- it's been a true honor and privilege to be selected amongst the WFMT Scholarship Recipients for the 15th World Congress of Music Therapy!Marija PranjićMA Music Therapy Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, United Kingdom2017 WCMT Student Scholarship RecipientPhotos:
