My name is Katarina and I am from Slovenia. When I first heard that the congress will be held in South Africa, the thought of attending immediately dawned on me. I reviewed the wonderful website and then the professors sent me an invitation to apply for the scholarships as well. I said to myself, why not? I can't lose anything, I can only gain. So I wrote the application and got to be one of the lucky ones. I could not believe that they chose someone from such a small country as Slovenia.
I spent the whole year preparing to leave for South Africa. I had selected hotels and purchased airline tickets - for additional travel in South Africa also. But the coronavirus made everything impossible. I was somewhat disappointed that I would not be able to attend the congress live, but there was an online version instead. For me, it was full of new skills. I have had the honour of listening to world-renowned music therapists and other experts. I learned a lot from them. It is also very commendable on the part of the organizers that they recorded all the seminars and it will be possible to listen to the recordings in the future. There were many interesting topics discussed at the same time and therefore it wasn't possible to listen to all of it.
Thank you all for a wonderful online congress and presentations. I cannot wait to go to South Africa for a trip a year or so later, and maybe visit the university where the congress was to be held. If nothing else, see you in three years in Australia.
