As we approach the upcoming World Congress of Music Therapy this July in Bologna, the 18th World Federation of Music Therapy is pleased to share an early release of its Annual Report 2025–2026.
This year’s publication arrives at a meaningful moment for the global music therapy community, offering both a reflection on the past year’s work and a foundation for the discussions that will take place at the congress. The report brings together updates from Council Members, Commissions, Regional Liaisons, and the Assembly of Student Delegates, illustrating the breadth of activity carried out across the WFMT network.
Throughout 2025–2026, particular attention has been given to strengthening international collaboration, supporting educational and professional development initiatives, and expanding dialogue across regions. These efforts are documented in detail throughout the report, alongside the ongoing contributions of volunteers and working groups who continue to shape the field through sustained engagement.
Publishing the report ahead of the World Congress of Music Therapy 2026 is intended to support a more informed and connected exchange in Bologna, where many of these initiatives will be further discussed and developed in person.
