During each term, Council members have the privilege of communicating with numerous music therapy professionals, students, and supporters. We continually learn of new endeavors to promote music therapy worldwide. In 2011, as part of our mission to support the global development of educational programs, clinical practice, and research to demonstrate the contributions of music therapy to humanity, we extended the WFMT Recognition Program to include awards in the areas of research/special projects, advocacy, service, and clinical impact. Through 30 June 2016, 6pm (PST), all WFMT members can nominate a candidate for one of these awards, each of which will be presented during the Opening Session of the 15th World Congress of Music Therapy in Tsukuba, Japan, July 2017.
