Celebrate World Music Therapy Week 2026 Through Your Lens!

From 10th to 15th April 2026, the world comes together to celebrate World Music Therapy Week: a special time to raise awareness, advocate for music therapy and highlight its transformative power across cultures and communities.

This year, the World Federation of Music Therapy (WFMT) invites you to participate in the World Music Therapy Week Photo Competition 2026. It’s your chance to show the world how music therapy connects people, breaks down barriers and creates moments of joy, healing, and understanding.

Theme: "Connecting Borders"

In 2026, we’re exploring the theme “Connecting Borders”, inspired by the upcoming 18th World Congress of Music Therapy in Bologna, Italy.

What does “connecting borders” mean? It’s about the ways music therapy:

  • Bridges cultures and communities
  • Blends innovation with tradition
  • Builds interdisciplinary networks
  • Supports personal and interpersonal growth

Through your photos, we want to see the meaningful, impactful moments that music therapy creates, those moments that resonate across borders, both visible and invisible.

A short title or caption can help share the story behind your photo and the experience it represents.

Why Participate?

  • Celebrate the potential of music
  • Showcase the impact of music therapy in your everyday work
  • Inspire others with your creativity and perspective
  • Get your work featured on WFMT social media and promoted during World Music Therapy Week

Important Dates

  • Submissions open: 13 February 2026
  • Deadline for entries: 15 March 2026
  • Voting period: 20 March – 3 April 2026
  • Winners announced: 10 April 2026
