We are excited to welcome you to the student section of the World Federation of Music Therapy!
We believe that students are valuable and essential components of the WFMT, as we are the next generation of professionals, academics and leaders in the field of music therapy!
The Assembly of Student Delegates (ASD) therefore aims to connect music therapy students worldwide in order to create a network of passionate new therapists; provide spaces for knowledge exchange between students; and, amplify student voices and perspectives within the WFMT and beyond.
The ASD also functions as the link between the WFMT Council and student members of the organization. Please feel free to contact the student representative in your region, the Executive Assistant or any WFMT Council Member/Regional Liaison if you have any questions or ideas - we always love to hear from you! We hope you will join us and contribute to our projects as we aim to inspire future professionals and leaders in our field.

And this is how and where you can follow and connect with us:
The WFMT Student Blog, ‘Window To The World’ was created to provide music therapy students a platform to share their internship, research, study experiences and/or personal stories connected to music therapy. As the blog aims to represent a great variety of experiences, everybody (e.g. YOU!) is invited to contribute - 500 word limit! All languages are welcome and blogs will be posted in the original language accompanied by an English translation.
See you on Instagram, in emails and in Bologna for the 18th World Congress of Music Therapy in July 2026!
With love & enthusiasm,
The 2023-2026 WFMT Assembly of Student Delegates
WFMT Council 2023 - 2026
WFMT is governed by a group of elected Officers and Commissioners. Additionally, eight Regional Liaisons are appointed by the Council to represent the WFMT within defined regions of the world.
This project aims to connect students around the world. Find music therapy peers in countries of interest to you, and learn how their cultures influence their music and interventions. Let us know about your interests by filling out the Jotform. We will find a peer match for you!
